Gears of war sequel, a definite possibility

A third-person tactical shooter from Epic, running on the Unreal Engine 3. Gears of War thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind’s epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet.Unlike other shooters, Gears of War is all about teamwork in a big way. All game modes, levels and scenarios are designed specifically to encourage co-operative play, whether it be with A.I. partners or human players (with A.I. teammates designed with specific strengths, weaknesses and personalities.) On top of that, voice recognition will be available for players, and obviously voice chat to discuss strategy with your friends. In addition to voice chat, gamers will be able to experience individualized matchmaking, view player statistics, earn player achievements, customize their games, and build and personalize their gamer profiles.After a year of Engine-hype and disgustingly-detailed screenshots, the Xbox 360’s flagship shooter Gears of War is finally churning in to shops.Even though Gears of War hasn’t hit stores yet, it’s easily one of the most anticipated titles for the Xbox 360.Even though Gears of War hasn’t hit stores yet, it’s easily one of the most anticipated titles for the Xbox 360.Lead Designer Cliff ‘CliffyB’ Bleszinski recently took some time out of his busy post-development schedule, no-doubt consisting of sleep and reeling at the presence of sunlight, to speak to CVG about Gears’ development and his relief at getting it out of the door and also drop enough hints of a sequel.

“We’ve spent time developing a rich universe for Gears, and the story is absolutely larger than the one told in the game. One could even argue that the ending cinematic leaves room for a sequel”  said company president, Capps.

“I love the universe and everything involved in it and if the game does amazingly well I wouldn’t rule anything out,” added Cliffy B.
