November 24, 2007

This is a super awesome song. Nonpoint does a remix of the original “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins. Nonpoint does the remix for the movie Miami Vice and the song has definitely been upgraded to today’s generation. Faster and better beats. Phil is the master but this song rocks!!

November 24, 2007

campus mailroomAn Ant farm, air-conditioner, barbecue grill, pool cues, pool table and balls, a refrigerator, a car muffler and even car tires and a bumper with a sturdy tag indicating the name of the intended recipient. These are a sample of the items being delivered via snail mail throughout college and university mailrooms across the country. How to access Yahoo! Mail using Microsoft Outlook

November 23, 2007

Yahoo mail and Microsoft OutlookYou can use Microsoft Outlook with many email accounts. Most Email providers such as Google’s Gmail, Microsoft’s Hotmail and many other providers provide free POP and SMTP access which allows you to use and integrate all your Email Accounts using Microsoft’s Outlook Express. The only exception is Yahoo’s Yahoo! Mail. In this day and age it is really unfortunate that Yahoo does not provide free POP and STMP access to the users of its free Yahoo! mail.

Note: Yahoo does provide free POP and SMTP access to its premium Yahoo! Mail Plus which requires a paid subscription. If you are one of those who has a Yahoo! mail Plus account, scroll down to the bottom of this article on how you can access Yahoo! Mail using Microsoft Outlook.

Assassin's Creed PosterHow many big budget games in the past 1 year have not been First Person Shooter games. Well, so few that you can almost count them on one hand. What is the reason behind such an onslaught on FPS games in the market. Their immense popularity and the in-general cannot miss game just like a horror/mystery genre in movies. When publishers consider that they need to sell over a million copies of a game whether for Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3 platform, to turn profitable, risk with coming out with a new kind of genre is generally not part of the equation. First Person Shooter games are generally the safe bet these days and no publisher knows it better than UBISoft which is why it is all the more surprising for them to go out on limb on Assassin’s Creed, one of the most innovative and imaginative games to be released in years.

I like to wish all AskStudent dot Com readers and all the editors and various contributors to AskStudent, a very happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday.  Thanksgiving is not only the time of the year to have the whole family over and enjoy a feast, it’s also a time to reflect on the things we have and living up and which we are thankful for. Here are some of the things I’m thankful for as we celebrate Thanksgiving

* I am thankful for everyone who reads AskStudent. It has been an amazing journey since October of last year where myself and two others started AskStudent. We have seen AskStudent grow from a handful of readers to 100,000 last month. You are the reason all the staff here at AskStudent continue to work hard and try to provide you with relevant information and which you can associate with.

* I am thankful to all the sponsors. They help pay the cost of keeping AskStudent alive and kicking

* I am thankful to the awesome staff I work with at AskStudent. Co- founders Ajit and Alex and the rest of the editors Ryan, Melissa, Christina and Matt. Thank you guys
