Will Obama Shift basis of Affirmative Action from Race to Class Disparities?
March 31, 2008

Walking a Fine Line: When asked if his daughters should receive preferences in college admissions, Obama said they should be considered ‘pretty advantaged’
As the Presidential Race comes closer, we will feature some of the leading candidates policies especially those pertinent to college students and students in general.
Barack Obama walks the fine line on race and with respect to race based affirmative action, he shows his reputation for fresh thinking.
In an interview last May on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” the senator was asked whether his own daughters should someday receive preferences in college admissions. His response was startling: “I think that my daughters should probably be treated by any admissions officer as folks who are pretty advantaged.” He added, “I think that we should take into account white kids who have been disadvantaged and have grown up in poverty and shown themselves to have what it takes to succeed.”
His comments lit up the blogosphere with speculation that as president he might spearhead a major policy change, shifting the basis of affirmative action from race to class disparities.
The statement fits into Obama’s record on the issue, which has never been black and white.

Following is the iPhone Dev Team press release
iPhone DevTeam PRESS RELEASE
The “DevTeam” would like to announce the immediate withdrawal from the iPhone development arena.
It was anticipated that the DevTeam would be releasing a tool for the iPhone sometime this week. Unfortunately, it has been decided to withdraw all development activities on this tool.
Criticism of the validity of the tool has been reported in the press and certain actions were taken to prevent the release of the tool on the 30th March.
Due to these actions, certain developers ceased their work immediately, with others reconsidering their position.
On Monday the 31st of March the DevTeam was approached by an unnamed party to sell all of the Intellectual property and related applications.
After much consideration, the offer was accepted and work has ceased.
The name of the company that has made this offer is private, and the details of the deal are confidential.
Our only comment is that Pwnage Tool and other such applications will not be seen outside of the lab.
We would like to thank our users for their support over the last 10 months.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
H-1B filings for employment in Fiscal Year 2009 should be delivered to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on Tuesday, April 1.
