FrontHunter seems to cost around $20. Its a paid service. Tom if are a representative of FrontHunter and if there is a demo version we can download, please get in touch with me at admin@askstudent.com. I can ask one of my editors to do a review of FrontHunter, if it is worth the $20 for a poor college student.

not so sure you've checked out this software... (it's not actually a site, although you can go there to view the Flash demo).

the software allows you to tailor each one— yet allows the more mundane aspects of the submittal process (substituting one company's name for another, etc.) that simply is a waste of time.

Yes, every cover letter should be tailored to the company. What the FrontHunter software does is, if anything, enable you the time to focus on the elements that actually matter— so you don't waste time on the ones that don't.

In the end, no hiring manager can tell the difference of a FrontHunter-generated cover letter + resume submission and one submitted from the Old School.

So yes, FrontRunner allows you to focus on exactly what you are saying, more so than one could afford the time to do otherwise. I agree completely.

Yes Tom, that is the whole point. When you send out a Resume and a cover letter to a company, it is not like sending out bulk email or spam email to everyone you know or like. When applying for a job, each one needs your individual attention focusing not only on that company's requirements but also tailoring it to your strengths. You need to tell that company why they need to hire you which simply cannot be achieved by some "nifty" online tool

Good advice— cover letters are definitely important to get your foot in the door— but writing cover letters for each time you submit a job takes forever... I use FrontHunter. Did about 50 submissions in under an hour— it lets you search+fire away all at once. Nifty stuff.

You provide a very in-depth description of each type of resume, pros and cons of each and the methodology behind writing an effective resume. Great job! I also just did a resume makeover where I show our readers a pre and post resume that one of our readers sent us.

A truly good insight on an effective resume. I would like to also add it is imperative to tailor the resume to a specific position and organization. The more you know about the organization and the position, the easier it will be to identify what the resume reader is looking for in your experience section, and consequently, the more you can tailor it. Some tips from a resume builder resource, is to research the company and position to identify which qualifications, credentials, projects and technical skills are most relevant to the company. Include in the resume the relevant skills and qualifications required by the position and the organization. Incorporate company keywords and phrases as those used in the job advertisement.
