Microsoft strikes back. Spoof of Apple’s I am a Mac ads
December 14, 2006
Most of you have seen Apple’s I am a Mac ads touting the virtues and benefits of Apple products. Well now Microsoft produced a clever parody pitting a Zune totting PC with an iPod carrying Mac.
The message Microsoft wants to convey “How simple it is to get music onto Microsoft’s Zune vs how difficult it is to get music onto the iPod.”
Now here is the problem: Whom are you going to share your Zune songs with if all your friends have an iPod?

Brand new Halo3 commercial aired during Monday Night Football
December 5, 2006
This is brand new Halo 3 commercial aired during the Carolina Panthers vs Phili Eagles on Monday Night Football game on 12/04/2006.
Check it out
In our article last October, we talked about the potential new maps, new weapons, we also talked about a secret new role for x button. In the commercial did you notice the shield that Master Chief put up. We think that this might be the ultra secret role for the x button on the Xbox controller — a defense shield. Again, notice later on that MC takes off, so it could be a sprint button.
If any of you guys are wondering why they show the kids at the beginning of the commercial, Bungie announced “See Master Chief as you have never seen before in our exclusive showing of the new Halo 3 ad”. So its pretty obvious that the male child is the Master Chief as a child and he’s hearing the voices as an adult. The children could also have been placed to provide a contrast with the HARSH reality of the Covenant invasion of Earth. While one of them represents a young Master Chief, the other could be Cortana… carefully hear the “Time to go” in the little girls voice.. very quietly after the shift… and then in the next instance says ” .. Chief”.
Could it be that Cortana was a childhood friend of Master Chief before she became the AI. You guys remember the initial Halo3 video where Cortana says” I know your past, I know your future”.
Also at the end of the ad, when Master Chief jumps, notice the Brutes especially the Center Brute, the huge one with the big Axe.

November 23, 2006
MSN has announced that beginning episodes of the Emmy award-winning comedy ‘Arrested Development’ will be streamed on demand on MSN Video and at no cost to viewers. The first five episodes are available here and starting Dec. 15, three new episodes will be added every three weeks. All 53 episodes from the three seasons of the show will be rolled out within the next year.
The Arrested Development episodes will be running with a new MSN Video player designed to create a better viewing experience of long-form video. The player provides viewers with many options to return to an episode they were watching if there is an interruption by automatically finding the last position in the episode before the interruption, and also at any time allowing the user to jump back 15 seconds. In addition, viewers have the ability to send a link of their favorite moment within an episode to their friends. The player can also present the show in a larger ’sit-back’ view with great quality and will still allow viewers to see their task bar to keep an eye on e-mail and instant messages.
“We’re thrilled to present this critically acclaimed show to the MSN audience along with exclusive online content for the ultimate ‘Arrested Development’ fans,” said Rob Bennett, general manager of Entertainment and Video Services for MSN. “We’ve created a number of innovative new features to enhance the video experience for ‘Arrested Development,’ and will lead the industry in improving the overall experience for watching long-form video content online.”
Future additional content will include deleted scenes, blooper reels and related DVD content. Interactive features such as message boards, cast information, fan areas, blogging helpers, and subscription options for newsletters and RSS feeds will collectively provide a deeper community experience for fans of the show.
This content though is currently available to U.S. viewers.

November 21, 2006
According to Microsoft VP Jeff Bell, the Gears of War just released is part 1 of a planned Gears trilogy. In an interview, he accidentally slipped up on his wording and let the trilogy out of the bag.
Here is what Jeff Bell said:
“Gamers today demand an excellent story in their games; they need to know what’s at stake, and why they should care. Excitement tops the list of desired emotions, but they want to be scared, too. They want the rush that comes from being scared by an enemy or trapped in a dark room and escaping with their lives. The goal of this ad is to establish Marcus Fenix as the hero of the Gears of War trilogy. The intention is to create emotional connection with him that is lacking in typical third-person action title marketing, by communicating a sense of desperation, loneliness, overwhelming odds, and the ultimate futility of the situation he faces.”

Gears of War has become one of the best game titles to come out in a long time and definitely the best game for the Xbox 360. It also recently overtook Halo2 as the most played game on Xbox Live and continues to grow rapidly.
