How to block your Cell Phone Number

Block your cell phone numberThe growth of Caller IDs means that whenever you call someone up, your cell phone number would show up on their Caller ID. There may be a number of reasons why you may wish to block your Cell Phone Number. Luckily for us, there exists two simple solutions on how to block your cell phone number.

How to Block your Cell Phone Number

Option # 1: Block your Cell phone number temporarily

This option exists if you wish to block your cell phone number from being displayed in a caller ID for that one specific call. For example, you do not want that new crush of yours that you are trying to reach her for the nth time in a row. Also, you may want to call a local business and do not want them to know your cell phone number

For blocking your cell phone number temporarily, press *67 followed by the phone number you wish to dial. For example, if you wish to call (123) 456-7890, then to block your cell phone number, press *671234567890 to complete your call and also to block your cell phone number

Option # 2: Block your Cell Phone number permanently

Most Cell phone carriers offer a line block service. You need to call up your cell phone’s customer service and request this line block on your cell phone. This would let you block your cell phone number from being displayed on any form of caller ID permanently.

Tip: If you go ahead and do a permanent block of your cell phone number, if there is a particular instance where you wish your cell phone number to be displayed, then press *82 followed by that phone number. For example, if you wish to call (123)555-5555 then do a *821235555555.

Note: Your cell phone number will not be blocked from emergency services

    Hi,
I’m Asiri. I have Nokia 6300 phone. Earlyer I used SIM card from a one company. I installed wap settings and used Internet through phone. Now I’m using different SIM from another company. It tried to install new wap settings after deleting old settings. But phone does not allow to save new settings. It says “Only 70 sets allowed. Settings discarded”. But in Default confg. settings under configuration settings is empty. I reset the phone using reset factory settings command but the problem still ocured. Try to format phone memory using *#7370# code. But it’s not working. Pls tell me how to solve this problem.
    Thank you

i havent tried puttin 67 in front of a number im calling yet so i dont know if that works yet,i am at the mo trying it on my mums number as a text just to see if it works for that.

for blocking my number on calls i just put 141 in front of the number it works. in cornwall anyway.

i have yet to try 141 on a text tho, just thought of it so that’ll be the next thing i try.

    • pixie says:

nope! 141 does not work on texts,it wont even send,.

67 however sent ,i told my mum who it was but had no reply yet maybe it takes a while to go through.

  41. Natashe says:

Does it work in Africa ?

  42. Mags86 says:

Theres also another way to block your cell number I tried the *67 on my phone and it did work but when i tried it in my bfs it didnt work so i trie the other way which is dialing #31# an that worked i think it depends on the model of your phone or something like that.

  43. Gomboc says:

If you are in Europe, you might try *30# + Number to switch off CallerID and *31# + Number to switch on temp sending of the CallerID (that’s the technical name of the parameter). Almost all GSM phones have an option in the call settings to turn off all CallerID’s by default, no need to call the operator. As previously mentioned if this code does not work for you pls call the customer service and ask for the correct codes it’s very rare that they don’t exist…
