Recipe: How to make a Plum Cherry Duck

Ingredients

1. One whole duck breast

2. Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

3. 1/2 cup plum cherry preserves

4. Two teaspoons soy sauce

5. 1/4 teaspoon Chinese five spice seasoning

6. Chopped Cilantro leaves, to garnish

How to make Plum Cherry DuckMethod

Trim excess fat from duck. Pat dry, then season with salt and pepper. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat.

Add Duck, skin side down, reduce heat to medium-low and slowly render the fat until only a thin crisp layer of skin remains, about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, pre heat oven to 350 degrees F. Blend plum cherry preserves, soy sauce and Chinese five spice seasoning. Turn breasts over, carefully drain off all fat.

Spoon two to three tablespoons of preserves mixture over duck. Transfer pan to oven and cook for nine minutes. Remove and let stand for five minutes, and then serve along with any pan juices.

Sprinkle on cilantro as a garnish. Serve
