ok, I’ve been to good and bad mascot schools.

In Grade School, the Mustangs, in Jr High was the Bulldogs, High School the Braves. Pierce College was the Raiders, which was cool, even though the school wasn’t big on sports.

Pacific Lutheran University was effeminate with the Lute, a ukalalie sized stringed instrument of baroque era minstrels and musicians. It was pretty unimpressive, obscure, and pretentious; just like the school itself.

At Saint Martin’s University, we got to be the “Saints”, which can be cool enough if you look at it the right way. Some saints were medievel knights, and kicked plenty of butt, which the mascot pays homage to. It also has a solumn and eternal quality to it, which is also cool.

And lastly, here I am at Evergreen State College… whose mascot is the GeoDuck… a mascot which looks like a mutated phallus, and merely encourages ridecule and emasculates the male population of the school not already made effeminate by the attitude of the school’s population.

Ok, unlike other colleges Evergreen doesn’t have football, except in the late summer when the University of WA’s football team used to live in our dorms and work on their game…They were really destructive. I think Evergreen has cut ties with them over that.
We have soccer, x-country, track, basketball, volleyball, and club sports, like crew.
I’ve always thought that college mascots are stupid. Evergreen needs a hairy clam mascot to bring balance to the masculine aspects of the geoduck mascot. -Then we’ll have the best mascot couple ever. Really.

Holy cow!! THAT IS FUNNNNNYYY!!! I was stationed in Neah Bay, Washington and played QB for the 758th Radar Squadron. We were known and loved as the Fighting Naked Mole Rats. Go Gooeeysss!!
