Note:  This program can’t remove Excel file protection, i.e. if you are unable to open the file, this program won’t help you.

This Excel add-in (password.xla) works fine in Excel 5.0 and above (including Excel 2000, XP and 2003).

This program will remove passwords of any length, also passwords containing special characters.

Instructions for Excel Password Recovery

1. Download the Excel Password Remover

password.xla or zipped  (password.zip)

2. Load this add-in in Excel which will give you two extra menu-items on the “Tools”-menu (or equivalent in non-English versions of Excel). These are:

a. Unprotect workbook
b. Unprotect sheet

To load this add-in in Excel: Open it the same way you do with Excel workbooks. Installing the add-in does not work for all users.
