Facebook to separate Work Friends from Social Ones

Facebook is apparently rolling out a new feature that will help you separate your work friends or “professional contacts” from your friends or “social friends”.

You can see this right now in facebook where if you are out of college and are working full time somewhere, you can be a part of your company’s group. However, what Facebook is working on is  grouping your friends according to whether they are social or professional contacts and create profiles tailored for each of these categories.

Right now, the leading business networking site is LinkedIn. People are already tired of being part of a thousand different networks and if Facebook does a good job of creating their professional network within your Facebook account, it would be game, set and match for their rivals.
