How to Download Free Music using Google

So, here is the way you have been looking for. How to download free music and MP3’s using Google to search for your favorite band and artist. All you have to do, is go to Google.com and type this

-inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(wma|mp3|ogg|m4a|aac) “AskStudent”

in the search bar and replace AskStudent with your favorite band, and you will only find open indexes that contain downloadable music files.

For example, my favorite band is Linkin Park. So, I go to Google and type this, in the search bar

-inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(wma|mp3|ogg|m4a|aac) “Linkin Park”

Download free music using google

At times like this, when no one is looking, I hug my computer. This whole Internet thing is pretty cool.

AskStudent Advisory: Please check the local laws in your country. At a lot of places, downloading music is illegal. Subscribe to music. It’s hella cheaper than buying, just as entertaining, and not near as time consuming or worrisome. Also, your favorite bands get something in their pocket… which helps them make the next CD and you contribute, as opposed to consuming.

Always been a big fan of google operators. Want a more practical use. How about term papers or tests from your professor’s site

For a more practical use.. try:
    site:school.edu inurl:exam filetype:pdf

    site:school.edu inurl:professorsname filetype:pdf
    site:school.edu inurl:professorsname filetype:doc

To really be able to get a specific file easily, use the search engine (google etc.) to search for unsecured mp3 servers. For example, Search for ‘gnump3d Tiesto’ -> Click on a result, port 8888 is common -> Right-click n’ Save…enJOY!

Agree with Andy. More often than not, if i don’t remember the long sequence of file operators as mentioned in this article, i just plug in the artist name followed by the song name in quotes and then mention port 80|8888 as mentioned by Andy. 8888 is there because it is a common bittorrent port

  5. Andy on April 23rd, 2007 3:55 pm

8888 is actually common for gnump3d since it’s the default. 6881 is common for bittorrent.

oops, thanks Andy for the correction.

  7. Alex on April 26th, 2007 2:03 pm

Yup, 6881 is the bittorrent port … although i use a port over 10,000 because an ISP might block the 6881 port or reduce the bandwidth for traffic on that port

Hey Ton, you need to use a disk image emulator. Looks like the folks here wrote an article for you :)

Oh and the Bin file you downloaded, use the instructions in the article and mount this bin file. Once you mount, you will either see an autorun or if autorun is disabled, go to My Computer and you should see and extra drive. Double click and browse the drive. You should see the install.exe or setup.exe for the game there
